Photographing the Fagus around Hobart

Posted on

It’s getting close to that time of the year when the ‘Fagus’ starts to turn yellow… usually around Anzac day is a good time to go up to the Tarn Shelf in Mt Field to try to catch the stunning colours of Tasmania’s only deciduous tree, Nothofagus Gunnii.

Mt Filed National Park is only 1 hour drive from Hobart and offers rainforest, waterfalls (including the world famous Russell Falls) as well as alpine landscapes. It is a must see when visiting Hobart.
